Party Games - Here is a New Game That Will Have Everyone at Your Next Party Rolling With Laughter
If you are looking for fun games you are probably familiar with card games like Kings Cup or Beer Pong. But here is something you may never have heard of. It is a funny, actually, downright hilarious game for parties that you have probably never heard of.
Don't' settle for the same old games you always play. When your friends come over It is time for something new.
Try games where you have objects and characters that race. There are lots of toys characters available today that can be used and this can be lots of fun.
Some require batteries and others are wind-up. But in both cases their use at parties can be outrageously funny.
It is the craziest thing you have ever seen as several of your favorite racers are lined up and then let go across the floor or a table. They race along and battle it out until one reaches the finish line. Even if some do not go straight and they crash into another racer that is fun too.
Everyone loves watching and cheering as the races are conducted over and over again. Some people like to pick their favorites and challenge others that theirs will be the winner.
Give the characters names and paint them. Attach to each little flags made with toothpicks and paper to make them unique.
At the next party with friends bring along a collection of your favorite battery operated or wind up racers. You can challenge others to a race. Let them pick their favorite racer. The winner gets to watch, all the losers drink. The more times you race, the more fun it gets.
This racing game will get more laughs than you can imagine.

Poker Skills - Avoiding Limping During Tournament Play

Poker Skills - Avoiding Limping During Tournament Play
Even the best poker player will be required to limp throughout the course of a tournament from time to time and whilst it may seem weak and counter productive, please note that it is a legitimate and useful strategy, and definitely one which will pay off major dividends in the long run. This may run contrary to what you have read thus far in the various poker help guides you may have came across during your studies, but there you have it.
Does limping have a proper place in poker and does it provide the user with some benefit? Yes, absolutely. Just remember one thing: the drawback with limping is that weak players rely on it too much and they use it in the wrong way which means that they end up causing themselves more harm than good.
Please note that there are two important issues that render limping during the early stages of a tournament an unwise and unappealing decision to make, the first of these being that there is little prospect of you actually knowing what cards your rivals have, and indeed, what move they may make. You will often find that you are backed into a corner and made to call raise, and do so with a less than ideal hand. Ignore mathematical propriety in the early stages of the game, focus on preserving your stack of chips for as long as comfortably possible.
Another problem with limping with a weak hand is that many of the flops that are called will end up acting against you and this will pave the way for your opponents to then take control of the flow of the game and may result in you trapped in a costly bluffing game. Not good.
Limping can be used for beneficial purposes and to effective use especially when and where it is used to create a particular position within the game and or where you are seeking to lay the groundwork for a firm trap. In fact, limping is often used by seasoned players to gauge the relative strength of their foes allowing them to get a better handle for the situation in question. Limping will also help you minimise your losses and the number of errors you make at any given time, which is a godsend during an online match whereby every chip is a prisoner.
If you find yourself in a later position and you have an especially high valued hand or strong pair of cards then you should press forward with your advantage and ensure that it is you that dictates the terms and progress of the pot. Where possible, fend off a continuation bet because this will reduce the value of the pot for you making the game less profitable for you.

The biggest example of this is when players watch the WPT on TV and start playing like the pros, then wonder why they aren't winning. Well, maybe it has something to do with the fact you aren't playing against professional poker players.
Using advanced poker strategies against new/beginner players is just as weak as using beginner tactics against advanced players. Approaching Online Poker With the Right Psychology

Approaching Online Poker With the Right Psychology
There are a lot of things a player needs to be competitive at online poker. The most obvious poker necessities are the money to play and the skills to win, but ask any pro and they'll tell you that mastering poker  is all in your head. It's simply not enough to know the game on paper; you have to be able to play it on the felt. That means no matter how deep your stack is or how long you've been playing, you're not going to get far without great patience, concentration and confidence.
Many aspiring poker players are undermined by their inability to take a loss, learn from it and move on. The fact of the matter is, in both live and online poker you're going to lose more often than you win. This is why players that see every flop drain their bankrolls so fast. The smartest strategy is to minimize your losses and make the most of your wins. Remember that the average player only finishes in the money in one of seven tournaments. You may have to build your bankroll out of pocket for a long time before your poker habit sustains itself, but that doesn't mean you should throw your money away.
If you're a relative amateur when it comes to online poker, then the best way to protect your bankroll and to learn from your losses is to set limits. Setting limits keeps you focused and helps you to track what you're doing right and doing wrong. It also makes it easy for you to see if your win/loss ratio is improving with time.
Poker is skill-based, but it still has an element of chance, so sometimes even if you do everything right you can still lose. These scenarios tend to bring on a mental state called "tilt." Tilt can be the kiss of death for even experienced poker players. Since many new players don't recognize when they're playing on tilt, sticking to your limits can be a good way to cut your losses when you've strayed from your strategy. If you do feel a case of tilt coming on, regardless of whether you've reached your limit or not the best approach is to stand and leave.
A little bit of stress while playing poker online is normal and can even be good because it keeps you sharp, but maintaining that stress is as important as maintaining your bankroll. If you become overwhelmed by in-game stress, then your focus is no longer on the game. Alternately, being too laid back can also be a mistake in a game that notoriously rewards aggressive players.
Though free poker and  cash poker offer two very different experiences, if you've never played competitive poker before then playing the free tables can be a good way to test the waters. Of you can't cut it against the relatively soft competition in the points-only poker rooms, then you'll be an easy target at the cash tables. In the same vein, if you can't handle losing points, then you're probably not ready to play for money.

Poker Psychology - There's Plenty Of Room At The Top!

Poker Psychology - There's Plenty Of Room At The Top!
One of the things that struck me about poker when I first started playing 6 years ago was how simple the game was. Yes, there are some rules to learn and some basic jargon to understand, but basically within a few days you can be feeling comfortable and playing at real money tables - and winning!
Of course then the realisation sets in that actually, poker is also an immensely complex game. An incredible mixture of luck and skill, which makes the game appealing to new players and experienced old-timers alike. I think it was the great Doyle Brunson who said that even after the decades he's been playing poker, he is still learning the game.
Doyle has a great philosophy and all good poker players should adopt it. No matter how long you have been playing poker, no matter how many tournaments you have won, you can always think about your game and how to improve it.
There are a lot of top players in poker that are making big money from the game. They are all great players in their own right. But no single poker player dominates the game in the way that Roger Federer dominates tennis, or Tiger Woods has done in golf.
In my opinion, the fact that poker does have an element of luck in the game, means it is a great leveller. If you have a good basic game strategy and style, work on it, keep thinking and improving it. That, combined with a little bit of luck (which we all get) could get you to the top of the game.
There's plenty of room at the poker top table and new faces join all the time, why not you?
Good luck at the tables!

Poker Pot Size Management to Minimise Risk

Poker Pot Size Management to Minimise Risk
Managing pot size is a crucial skill to master if you want to maximise your poker profits. It's essential you keep this in mind because the vast majority of the confrontations that you are involved in should be small pots compared to your stack size. The point is to avoid getting involved in large pots, unless you are certain you are strongest in the hand. That way you keep your risks low, you'll lose fewer chips when you lose a pot, but when you do win a pot you'll scoop up a good number of chips.
Always consider what the result of any actions you take at the table will be. Whether you're checking, calling or raising, every action you take at the poker table has the potential to alter the size of the pot. Betting pre-flop, or on the flop when you have the best hand could cause you to lose more. While it's tempting to bet into a pot when you have a winning hand, hoping to win more, you need to consider not only your own hand strength, but your opponents and the board cards when deciding on what action to take.
Another consideration is the skill of your opponents. Are these players experienced enough to fold if you raise or reraise, or are they a calling station who will see your cards no matter what? There's nothing worse than raising with the best hand when you know you have your opponent beat, and having them call and outdraw you. You want to reduce the chance that this will happen, and not get involved in pots where this is likely to occur, especially in the early stages of a multi table tournament.
The size of a pot also makes a big difference to your ability to read your opponents. If your opponent wants to be in a hand then you can put them on a certain range of hole cards (depending on what type of player they are). Once the put is large enough to concern your opponent, then you have more opportunity to bluff, and win the pot with a weak hand.
This brings us to the biggest advantage of managing pot size, which is that you get to see all five cards on the board before you really resolve what to do in terms of your hand strength and your opponent's propensity to make an error. Prospective draws or paired boards reveal themselves to critical spots but could either turn into big hand for you or help you fold and save you some tournament chips.
Managing the pot size needs emotional discipline, effective profiling of your opponents, and an experienced understanding of post flop play. Get it right and you'll minimise your risk and maximise your winnings, but get it wrong and you'll end up being called in the wrong spot and bleeding chips. As ever with poker, you should study and practice the art of managing the size of the pot until it becomes second nature, as it's an effective weapon in your arsenal of poker plays.
